Location: La Crosse, Wisconsin
The nursing placement coordinator evaluates work unit needs related to RN, LPN, PCA, and unit secretary positions and coordinates the hiring plan for each area as well as the overall hiring needs/trends across the work units within the Department of Nursing. This includes evaluating applicants for qualifications, pre-screening, participating in the interview process, appropriate placement, and maintaining and analyzing the gain/loss
database for job categories within the hiring plan. This is accomplished within the designated department budget and in collaboration with nursing administration, nurse managers, nurse supervisors, and human resources. Nursing placement coordinators develop and maintain programs that enhance retention and recruitment for the Department of Nursing. Examples of these programs include the Summer III Program, Career Awareness
Programs, and the Staff Nurse Recruiter Program. The Office of Nursing Placement and Career Development serves as a resource for individuals considering nursing to understand the career options available within the nursing profession and Mayo Clinic Rochester.
Master's degree in nursing (effective August 2010). Two years successful experience as a staff RN within the inpatient care setting at Mayo Clinic. Understanding of Department of Nursing organization, Mayo Clinic, and departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate with a variety of people in a direct, personable, and articulate manner. Possesses negotiation skills and public speaking skills. Ability to collect, compare, sort, organize, and analyze information from several sources and communicate this to others in a meaningful manner. Ability to convey a positive and professional attitude regarding nursing. Commitment to be current regarding the nursing profession and trends for the future. Ability to maintain a positive self-image in appearance and actions. Ability to utilize spreadsheets, word processing and database applications. Previous management experience desired.
License or certification
Current Wisconsin RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $3449.60, based on a full-time position.
