Description

We are seeking a Senior Electronics DesignEngineer to be part of a team responsible for new product design, development,and introduction into production.  Locatedat the newly expanded Emerson Innovation Center, you will be part of amultidisciplinary team focused on adding to existing market leading productsand technologies.

Focusedspecifically on the Fisher branded line of products, this position is part ofEmerson Final Control, a leader in optimizing process operations around theworld known for our team of experts and proven performance and reliability ofproducts.

 Responsibilities


    • Design low power / high reliability analog and digital circuits.

    • Perform design simulations using SPICE.

    • Oversee PWB layout activities during the implementation of a design.

    • Interface with suppliers for producing engineering prototype Electronic Board Assemblies. 

    • Develop and execute electronics test plans.

    • Influence mechanical, firmware and manufacturing design requirements to assure a successful end-product.

    • Troubleshoot design, manufacturing and field product issues.

    • Implement industry and company standards.

    • Support product hazardous area approvals.




Requirements   


  • B.S. degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering

  • 2+ years of experience preferred  

 Required Knowledge & Ability




  • Strong analog and digital circuit design capability.

  • Circuit simulation experience with SPICE.

  • Good working knowledge of electronic test equipment including scopes, meters, signal generators, etc.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to learn the fundamentals of firmware,mechanical, and pneumatic components to understand the performance of theentire system

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Ability

 

  • Product design experience with low power analog/digital circuits.

  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing process.

  • NI LabVIEW and TestStand experience.

  • A good understanding of electromagnetics and compliance requirements (EMC).

  • A good understanding of intrinsically safe design practices.

  • Experience developing products with industrial protocols: HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, Industrial Ethernet.
