About the Role
As a Test Automation Engineer, you help ensure the quality of the XactAnalysis application by writing and maintaining automated tests. You use technologies including Java, Selenium, TestNG, Team City, and Git. As part of an agile development team, you are responsible for planning, writing, and directing others in writing new automated tests. You are also responsible to maintain and update existing tests and direct others as they do so too. You will provide code reviews for other test automation engineers. You will help maintain a network of virtual machines on which the automation tests run. You will coordinate with other automation engineers to improve the state of the automation test suite by reviewing processes, improving stability, exploring new technology, and setting the direction and goals of test automation for the department. You will be given opportunities to foster personal growth and improve your skills as an automation engineer.
About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role
Produce well written and clearly documented code that effectively verifies the functionality of the product
Implement creative solutions and incorporate new technologies/approaches to optimize test efficiency and coverage
Review test runs, resolve issues, and help stabilize the test suite
Take part in code reviews
Participate in various scrum meetings throughout the agile process
Work with an agile development team to plan and coordinate the automation work for each sprint.
Participate in team building activities and team sponsored lunches.
About You and How You Can Excel in This Role
Associates degree / two years undergraduate studies in computer science or related field and/or two years equivalent experience
Proficiency in software testing using Java, Selenium Webdriver and Grid, and TestNG.
Great collaboration and communication skills
Critical thinking, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented mindset with initiative and self-motivation
Experience with Git, TeamCity, Jira, Maven, MongoDB, SQL, REST, JSON
Experience working in an agile environment
