YOUR DAY.

As a Customer Care Tech II you need to know how to:

Provide exceptional customer service through all daily interactions with both external and internal departmental contacts

Receive all incoming requests for notices of material transport, medical/surgical supplies, and patient care equipment. Prioritize requests and dispatch personnel and/or volunteer staff to fulfill transport and supply requests in accordance with departmental response service standards

Provide timely follow-up information to requesting departments regarding canceled transports, supply outages, and other supply or transport related problems, also providing this information to the Supervisor

Issue and credit supply items on the Lawson system in a timely manner

Coordinate and fill routine supply orders for ancillary departments

Maintain logs and/or databases documenting transport, and supply requests in computer database

Participate in daily shift change procedures

Fill supplies and equipment requisitions from other departments and coordinate delivery of those items. Replenish carts and stock supplies for needed items

Inventory, order, and replenish bin locations

Rotate and inventory stock to ensure sterile packaging integrity and current expiration dates

Support the Supply Chain Customer Care Supervisor/Coordinator as needed

Adhere to all department and care site policies and procedures

Attend continuing education programs, including, but not limited to: process improvement events, service excellence, and SCL informational offerings as required

Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with OSHA and other regulatory guidelines

Maintain access to Medical supplies - both reusable and disposable, patient instrument trays, sharps, and any supply needed to care for patients

When required to perform your job duties, you may have access to restricted areas, including medication rooms, after notification of personnel responsible in these areas

In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include such other responsibilities, and duties as assigned from time to time, based upon SCL Health needs or requirements

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

High School Diploma or equivalent, required

Associates degree and/or continuing education, preferred

Minimum of one to two (1-2) years of experience acting as a Customer Care Technician Level 1 or related position, required

Knowledge of MMIS, preferably Lawson or other related inventory system, required

At least one to two (1-2) years of experience in a customer care-related role, preferable in a healthcare supply chain environment including knowledge of patient related supplies, materials, equipment, and computer skills, preferred
