Position Overview
The Traveling Support Technical Operations Engineer II is responsible for in-depth troubleshooting and research with PeopleNet Hardware and software solutions for our customers. This role is required to travel up to 50% of the time and be willing to travel by plane and vehicle. The best candidate for this position is technically inclined, experience traveling in North America, and enjoys working in and outdoors with customers at all levels.

Visit customer sites to troubleshoot and resolve escalated system issues
Identify, troubleshoot, document, resolve / escalate uncommon hardware and software issues
Clearly, concisely, and effectively communicate technical concepts, both verbally and in writing, to technical and non-technical audiences
Collaborate with customers / internal teams for ongoing research projects
Prioritize inbound escalations based on severity and customer impact
Ensure SLAs / KPI s are on track
Work with senior team members to ensure team visibility to ongoing issues
Make recommendations on business processes, research approaches, technical tools, and overall team improvement opportunities
Collaborate on documentation creation needed for internal cross functional teams
Required Skills:

* Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in a technology related field

* 2+ years of experience working in software and hardware troubleshooting or development capacity

* Experience working with onsite troubleshooting with customers

* Experience with scripting, SQL query creation, and troubleshooting by leveraging server and device logging

* Experience developing reports to analyze data trends and proposing meaningful conclusions

* Ability to travel up to 50% of the time; both by plane and vehicle and work evenings / weekends

* Demonstrated success with root cause analysis

* Ability to communicate advanced product knowledge and highly tech-savvy

* Excellent written, verbal, and facilitation skills

Preferred Skills:

* Experience working with multiple operating systems, such as Windows CE, Windows, Linux, Android, iOS, AS/400

* Experience troubleshooting mobile or wireless Communications

* Experience using and troubleshooting SQL, XML, HTML, SPLUNK, Scripting, SDLC

* Experience debugging software code
