Job Description

The Sr. Director Supply Chain Management will be based in either San Jose, CA. The Sr. Director of Supply Chain Management will be responsible for leading a team of supply chain management professionals to develop and implement world class supply chain strategies that provide Flex and our Customers and Trade Partners with a strategic market advantage. Develop and drive supply chain strategies that are consistent with established company policies and worldwide material/procurement strategies. Manage communication and relationship links between customers and Flex to ensure project successes.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…


  • Create and implement a global supply chain strategy in support of the Global program that is synchronized with business segment material strategies and metrics.

  • Implement programs to optimize inventory turnover while mitigating inventory exposure and reducing risk for both Flex and our customers. These activities include implementation of contractual excess and obsolescence terms with the customer as well as supplier managed inventory programs.

  • Drive strategic procurement initiatives in an effort to maximize cost reduction. Measure and report on project status both internally and to the customers.

  • Support Design Services Procurement Manager (DSPM) activities for new programs for specific Global customers. Provide forward price projections, as required.

  • Setup and manage project pricing model to maximize customer profitability. Track pricing on an on-going basis. Work directly with customers to obtain (and break down turnkey) cost estimates or targets.

  • Ensure Terms are agreed to for all customers – leverage standard trades terms document to the extent possible.

  • Be point person for customer inquiries related to warranty and last mile logistics issues.
    Support customers on critical material expedite requests.

  • Ensure FBG Sourcing & Quality teams follow required supplier qualification process when onboarding new suppliers.

  • Direct and follow through on customer quotation requirements. Interface with the Sourcing group during the quotation process to ensure all costed Bills of Quotation are competitive, support the defined supply chain strategy, and minimize Flex’ exposure to inventory impacted by quoted pricing.

  • Lead purchasing activities associated with New Product Introduction efforts. Complete line item source awards, new supplier development, and item-master upload.

  • Ensure the highest ethical standards of integrity and professionalism are adhered to in the procurement process in accordance with corporate requirements.

  • Direct interaction with Business Development and Global Account Management team members in assisting with customer meetings, escalations, and provide support in the sales cycle.

  • Define and monitor progress of trade partner specific change management priorities to improve YTWO platform adoption and experience.

  • Bachelors of Science Degree required - A Master’s or MBA degree is preferred.

  • 7-10 years of progressive management experience in Supply Chain Management

  • Strong Program Management skills with focus on P&L activities

  • Lean/Six Sigma Black Certification Preferred
