Assistant Arts & Entertainment Editor
The Chronicle’s twin goals are to “save the world” through exceptional, impactful journalism and to “earn more subscribers” by building deep loyalty with our audiences, becoming central to their everyday lives. Datebook’s arts and entertainment coverage is key to both goals. The department’s mission is to present, 24/7, the best arts and entertainment coverage in the Bay Area. Our critics and writers highlight both established and emerging artists and performers, preview and recommend what’s coming and should not be missed, and critically assess the work. Our goal: Make Datebook, in print and online, a habit for our audience.
The Assistant Arts Editor supports the Datebook team, responsible for the scheduling, assigning and production of the Sunday Pink section, as conceived with the senior arts editor for criticism. In the future, the AAE may also oversee the print production of additional Datebook or Sunday print sections, as workload permits.
The AAE assigns, edits and sends online Pink or other stories he/she edits, as directed by the senior arts editor for criticism and enterprise.
