HII – Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc. (HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.
HII-MDIS is currently seeking a Graphic Artist to work out of their Centreville office. We are looking for someone who understands the rigors of proposal work, is adaptable in both tasking and methodology to support emerging requirements and is a willing spirit. The successful candidate is proficient in Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, MS Word and MS PowerPoint. The Graphic Artist conceives, designs, lays out, and coordinates proposal graphics that convey ideas and information. Creates graphic presentations that communicate mood, emphasis, insight, viewpoint, and similar visual impressions. This person must successfully implement delegated tasks independently, with a high degree of accuracy, while maintaining connection to the larger opportunity.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Candidate will be required to support the proposal development process through interaction with the HII Proposal Development organization, HII Operational entities, and team members.
Conceptualizes, designs and creates persuasive proposal graphics using Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint, in accordance with Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements and HII branding guidelines
Works with authors and technical SMEs to translate verbal input and rough sketches into clear, easily understood graphics that quickly convey the intended message
Creates proposal graphics using existing color palette or create new customer-centric color palette
Creates proposal graphics that pass the “10-second rule” and occupy minimal page space
Reads and interprets RFP requirements to ensure compliance with all font, page, sizing, and other proposal submission requirements
Creates visually aesthetic and compliant proposal covers and spines
Completes graphics in a timely manner to support document deadlines, sometimes working multiple concurrent proposals
Attends team standups as requested
Supports proposal production, final book check, and packaging
Develops and jointly maintains Art Log of work to document proposal graphic control numbers and varied iterations and post completed work to a collaborative environment
Qualifications and Experience:
Attention to detail and accuracy; strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
Adaptability and flexibility; ability to work under pressure and beyond standard hours during busy periods to meet submission deadlines
Ability to comfortably and professionally interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
High School diploma/equivalent and 2+ years of experience. Design school experience is preferred.
Ability to interpret and understand RFP requirements
Skill with Adobe Suite, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Photoshop
Skill with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
Must be able to work overtime and weekends (infrequently)
