The Accountant will provide general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll support. This position maintains accounting controls and advises the organization when adjustments are needed. The Accountant participates in the closing process by performing entries and reconciliations. The role assists with the banking and cash management process, and with tax returns and supporting documents as needed. The Accountant is also responsible for overseeing the accounting and tracking process for fixed assets and construction in progress.


  • Maintain accounting controls in the chart of accounts, and link accounts to facilitate financial reporting.

  • Create selected journal entries and applicable account analysis and reconciliations. Ensure adequacy of reserves and accuracies of accounts, and clear reconciling items timely.

  • Assist in maintaining adequate reserves for various liabilities including but not limited to workers compensation, company insurance, health claims, and legal obligations.

  • Maintain intercompany accounts and clear reconciling items timely.

  • Support financial and bank audits.

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.

  • Assist with budget preparation and coordinate system load of budget data.

  • Prepare bank reconciliations; resolve issues with bank such as positive pay exceptions, bank fee anomalies, and stale or out-of-balance items.

  • Assist with the preparation of annual personal property tax returns.

  • Prepare and file for sales & use tax returns; ensure compliance with state and federal laws regarding sales and use tax.

  • Assist with preparation of schedules and required documents for federal tax filings and provisions.

  • Assist in federal and state tax audits.

  • Assist with the company's purchasing card program.

  • Oversee accounting and tracking process for fixed assets and depreciation.

  • Track and Account for Construction in Progress including asset purchases and capital leases.

  • Monitor capital spending and lease recovery activities including evaluation of proposed projects.

  • Assist Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable with day to day functions and problem invoices.

  • Complete short-term projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain Accounting process for all company leases.

  • BS in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CMA, CIA or MBA helpful but not required.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an Accounting or Finance related position.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP.

  • Proficient in PC applications and Excel, and ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources to support and verify financial results.

  • Good interpersonal skills, leadership, and team working capabilities.


    Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required.

    The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
