Duties and Responsibilities


  • Full-cycle recruitment including posting jobs, facilitating resume review, setting up interviews and reference checks.  Work directly with hiring managers on every stage of recruitment and interview process.

  • Prepare new hire materials for new hire orientation. Assist with set up on the day of the orientation as needed.

  • HRIS data entry, including new hire set up, benefit changes, terminations and other employee information changes.

  • Field questions and assist employees with HR related questions or issues.

  • Full knowledge and understanding of SOM’s benefits.

  • Support in preparation of performance review packets and meeting materials.

  • Assist with Human Resources related events such as benefit meetings, summer intern activities, career fairs and other related activities.

  • Generating reports and information requests as requested.

  • Champion use and cultivate HR presence on InsideSOM.

  • Filing all necessary paperwork.

  • Other duties as assigned.
     

Qualifications


  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field

  • 1 year of Human Resources experience or professional experience in a related function

  • Excellent customer services skills and the ability to interact with staff of all levels

  • Proven ability to handle confidential human resource related issues in a discreet and professional manner

  • Ability to work on multiple assignments/deadlines while ensuring that staff needs are met

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Excellent MS Office skills

  • Working knowledge of federal and California employment law

  • Experience with Workday is a plus
