Senior Project Manager - Building Products

Dudley, NC

 

 

Georgia Pacific is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the Building Products team located in Dudley, North Carolina.  The Senior Project Manager will manage a fabrication and asset rebuild facility and will have a thorough understanding of precision maintenance, sound reliability practices coupled with demonstrated cutting, welding, fabrication, hydraulic and pneumatics hands-on experience.  The key focus of this role is to assist the facility in improving their competitive position through improved efficiency and cost reductions as defined by raw material recovery, yield and productivity.   

 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  


  • Assist the facilities in improving their competitive position through improved efficiency and  cost reductions as defined by raw material recovery, yield and productivity

  • Manage project scoping, bill of materials, scheduling and field project execution 

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the field of plywood manufacturing equipment with the primary focus being the lathe-line(s) that are installed in nine plywood manufacturing facilities

  • Support continuous process improvements through facility engagement, as well as systems optimization

  

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor of Science Degree or Tech Vocation Degree in an engineering or maintenance field

  • Ten (10) or more years of maintenance technical support experience in a manufacturing or military environment

  • Five (5) or more years in a leadership role

  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% initially - subject to increase with expanded responsibilities

 

What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Previous experience managing a fabrication shop

  • Experience troubleshooting equipment (mechanical and electrical)

  • Experience with Asset maintenance

  • Experience with reliability and maintenance

  • Experience with equipment design and fabrication

  • Understanding of Industrial Electrical and Controls

  • Project scope greater than $1MIL, including execution

  • Lead a team of 5+ salaried employees
