About the Office

Graduate Academics & Student Success provides graduate students with wrap around support from enrollment through graduation. The Office of Graduate Academics & Student Success coordinates new student orientation, peer mentoring programs, academic support programs, career exploration programs, and personal development programs; provides academic advising; monitors students’ academic progress; maintains academic records; establishes, interprets, and upholds institutional policies pertaining to graduate students; and helps resolve student concerns. Through the Graduate Curriculum Committee, the Office of Graduate Academics & Student Success approves new and revised degree and program requirements and performs regular review of all graduate degree and certificate programs. Office of Graduate Academics & Student Success is guided by the Master’s Student Advisory Board, the Doctoral Student Advisory Board, and the Graduate Faculty Advisory Board and advocates for graduate student needs and represents the interests of this population on university-wide committees.

Position Overview

The Office of Graduate Academics & Student Success is seeking a Coordinator who is organized and efficient, with a proven ability to effectively work on multiple projects concurrently. The incumbent must be an intrinsically-motivated self-starter who is able and eager to do excellent work and is comfortable interfacing with faculty, staff, and students. The Coordinator will work with the Director to develop and execute all graduate student support programs, services, and events. Specifically, the Coordinator will:


  • Coordinate the logistics for OGASS programs, including creating promotional materials, registration forms, and application forms; reserving event space; placing catering orders; sending promotional emails; managing program registrations and questions; ensuring staff coverage for events; creating and distributing post-event surveys; and drafting reports on programs at the end of each semester

  • Assist the Director in managing retention efforts, including preparing, sending, and following up on monthly check-in emails to all graduate students.

  • Assist the Director with preparing for and hosting annual events, including Master’s Student Orientation, Ph.D. Student Orientation, Mid-Year Check-in events, the Graduate Research Conference, the Graduate Awards Ceremony, and the Ph.D. Hooding Ceremony.

  • Maintain the office’s intranet site and perform administrative duties including placing supply orders, reconciling expenses, and processing payments.

  • Train and manage undergraduate and graduate student workers and graduate interns.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to interact confidently with faculty, staff, students, and upper-level administrators

  • Experience with program development, management, and assessment

  • Proven ability to produce error-free promotional materials, including email announcements and flyers

  • Experience with Canvas learning management system and Stevens intranet site

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher

  • Experience using Google Forms and SurveyMonkey
