Job Description:


Function: SME Engineer within the Desktop Engineering team that owns and delivers Ivanti Environment Manager services for the bank's endpoints. This includes activities around the service Lifecycle, responsible for maintaining adherence to corporate standards, vendor support, publishing the service roadmaps, presenting the strategy of the service evolution, maintain license compliance and forecast usage and contributes to the budget and forecasting for expense and capacity as well as documenting and enhancing the reporting and KPI metrics for the service. Acts as primary contact and has ownership for the Environment Manager service to represent it to the technology leadership team and business partners. Oversees the training and marketing for the service. Helps develop internal skills sets and mentoring of employees and customers of the service.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and consult with client representation in the analysis of short and long-range business requirements and recommend innovations that anticipate future impacts of changing business requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 7 and 10 operating systems, application preferences (App Data folder, Computer/User registry keys)
  • Extensive experience of Microsoft Group Policy (e.g. Client side preferences, Loop back processing, Item-level targeting, RSOP analysis)
  • Strong understanding of Windows profile management, folder redirection, offline files and roaming profiles
  • Proficient computer skills required including knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office products, , printing, operating systems
  • Experience with roaming profiles (Citrix Profile Management) and folder redirection (DFS namespaces and replication),
  • In-depth understanding of Windows User's Profile structure
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve reported incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document remediation
  • Strong technical understanding of Windows infrastructure services (e.g. AD, CIFS, and DFS) within the enterprise
  • Experience in Scripting - Windows PowerShell, SMS, VBScript, Batch/Command
  • Experience with Infrastructure Applications such as Ivanti User Workspace Manager (formerly AppSense Desktop Now) (UWM) for use with persona management for Physical, Virtual desktops and Laptops
  • Build positive client relationships.
  • Monitor technology direction of industry and vendor applications.
  • Research and initiate change to the status quo. Responsible for vendor / product analyses and recommendations.
  • Develop professional levels of communication and cooperation.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and professional organizations.
  • Familiar with standard ITIL procedures for technology changes (Test -> Certification -> Production)
  • Ensure completion of schedules.
  • Coordinate activities with other engineers and teams
  • Responsible for implementing technology consistent with Division's standards and long-range plans.
  • Ensure adherence to all department and technology standards and procedures, including all documentation requirements.
  • Manage escalated issues and concerns.
  • Keep abreast of activities outside the team that may impact the team or client environment.
  • Understand technical, business and operational impacts of a project or problem.
  • Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Education and Experience Required:
Combined minimum of 8 years' higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management and/or architecture

Strong understanding of the system development and infrastructure lifecycle and architecture, vendor best practices, IT Service Management, and systems design

Strong knowledge of Windows 7 and 10 operating systems, application preferences (App Data folder, Computer/User registry keys)

Extensive experience of Microsoft Group Policy (e.g. Client side preferences, Loop back processing, Item-level targeting, RSOP analysis)

Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

Minimum of 8 years' professional experience in a technical engineering position involving infrastructure design technologies, data management and interchange, system design and/or development for complex applications

Ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into structured high quality implementations using any variety of industry standard approaches
