Location: Auburn, New York
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
45% Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells money orders and travelers checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed; posts transactions to member accounts and maintain records; verifies cash and endorsements, issues receipts, and receives check re orders.
20% Provides members with service and information with regard to the services offered by the credit union; researches and solves member questions, problems and complaints either by telephone, correspondence or in person, in a timely manner while maintaining member satisfaction whenever possible.
15% Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services and directs members to appropriate department for specific information and service; cross sells credit union services.
10% Keeps informed of the latest changes in credit union policies and procedures relating to security, compliance, rates, and consumer protection laws.
5% Meets balancing requirements as outlined in the MSR Standards of Performance and performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input, scanning and answering the telephone.
5% Performs other related duties as assigned; must be able to work flexible hours, including Saturdays, at any/all branch locations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience: One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information that may require some discussion.
Other Skills: Must be able to operate a 10 key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names.
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds daily. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
