The Senior Development Associate, as a member of the TSI's Advanced Business Group, will work with a team on evaluating and establishing relationships with companies and university with technology and market access in areas of strategic interest to TSI. TSI will look to acquire, license, or establish cooperative marketing partnerships as function of the opportunity. Successful outcomes will be based on relationships established with an understanding of cooperation and mutual interest.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INLCUDE:
Research and contact key individuals of influence at target companies to develop, assess, and qualify their willingness to partner with client as function of the value they would bring to clients portfolio or growth strategy. Meet with decision makers at target companies to understand their need for services/solutions, both current and future. Document business development activity and pipeline. Gather competitive intelligence and knowledge surrounding industry trends, share insights. Strengthen brand awareness through active external organization and event (e.g., conferences, trade shows) involvement. Conduct industry and business research. Establish relationships with companies to explore potential collaboration or acquisition opportunities. Assist in development of target company lists. Develop and maintain a follow up plan for key contacts. Evaluate potential investment opportunities that strategically and financially align with Clients objectives. Participate in meetings, negotiations and other high-level strategic discussions with target companies. Draft and present recommendations for potential partnerships or acquisitions. Perform financial and strategic due diligence on opportunities.
Education Bachelor's degree in related field. MBA is preferred
Experience Minimum of five years of experience in a business / corporate development function. The ideal candidate will have diverse industry exposure, with a particular affinity for technology driven industries. Experience in consultative or technical sales/marketing, business development, client management, business/research strategy, and/or innovation/partnerships function. Evidence of business/revenue growth and/or partnership development in a technical sales/marketing capacity. Evidence of productive relationships and facilitation with key business leaders. Previous business development/strategy experience developing progressively complex strategies and using data analytics, technical/domain knowledge and information, and competitive/market intelligence to guide decision making.
