Under minimal supervision, p rovide technical support of engineering on complex high end product development assignments requiring independent action , including but not limited to test/evaluation, updating schematics, and working with PCB layout Technicians. As an Engineering Technician II you will assist in the development of new and existing products by prototyping, testing, documenting as directed by an engineer and following design control procedures. Designs and technology change frequently and you must demonstrate the ability of coming up to speed quickly.
Demonstrate ability to adapt quickly to new designs and concepts.
Construct, evaluate, and troubleshoot prototype devices.
Develop tooling and fixtures for testing.
Demonstrate familiarity in the use of standard company test procedures.
Perform hardware verification, validation and reliability testing of design specification by reviewing and executing verification procedures and test plans.
Record test results, numerical and graphical data, and make recommendations for changes to product or test methods.
Generate documentation, including drawings, ECOs, materials specifications, manufacturing procedures, BOM's, and inspection procedures.
Read circuit schematics and troubleshoot and fix PCAs, including soldering of precision components.
Create/Update project schematics and correct errors.
Construct schematic symbols, construct PCB footprints and process parts through SAP.
Create and maintain parts in OrCAD CIP.
Generate Gerber, assembly drawings, BOMs and documentation required for assembly.
Attend placement and PCB routing design reviews.
Completes other assignments and special projects as requested.
2 year Electronic Technology certificate
2 year Electronic Technology AAS degree
2-6 years as an Engineering or Production Technician
Supporting development and /or manufacturing of complex products
Troubleshooting and repair skills using electronic test equipment.
