Job Description:

The Jr. Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting and coordinating brand accounting, budgetary and merchandise financial plan processes including financial close for the brands; provides analytical support and visibility on key financial and operating metrics; assists in managing that internal controls are in place, followed, and business activity is recorded in accordance with Deckers central finance and accounting team.

Develop and maintain productive, effective, and professional relationships with internal/external partners, peers, superiors, vendors, auditors, and others.  Represent the company in a positive and supportive manner at all times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will be the main PLG contact/resource for the creation, education, and management of POs, keep updated on any new PO processes, and provide guidance to continually improve current operating procedures
  • Prepare journal entries for related account activities and assist in investigating variances
  • Act as an A/P liaison to provide support and ensure proper follow up regarding payments to relevant team members
  • Assist in the financial close at month- and quarter quarter-end.
  • Prepare ad -hoc reporting and assist brand team members in various projects to analyze operations
  • Pro-actively manage expense coding and Concur expense reports to ensure proper coding and expenses remain within budget guidelines. Understand the implications of all purchases and educate team members on GAAP, financial processes, and company policies

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education/Experience:

o      Bachelor’s degree in Business, related field or equivalent experience.

o       At least two years of work experience in general accounting, financial analysis, or business administration.

  • Excellent verbal communication, time and project management, and writing skills

  • Intermediate to aAdvanced Excel Skills

  • Other MS Office Skills (Outlook, Powerpoint)
