Job Summary:

FLIR Integrated Imaging Solutions (IIS), a division of FLIR systems, headquartered in the Greater Vancouver area, BC, addresses mainly 2 growing markets: Machine vision for the largest part of our activities, and People Flow Analytics.

Regarding Machine Vision: we provide to machinery manufacturers or system integrators imaging products and solutions that are used for quality inspection, measurement, traceability, vision guided automation and robotics, as well as intelligent traffic systems. Regarding People Analytics: we are currently focused on Retail Analytics, and we provide imaging products and solutions that are used to measure retail customers traffic, customers queuing time, customers flows in the retail space; Essentially our People Analytics products help to replicate the equivalent of web analytics in the physical world.

We are looking for a customer-centric Senior Account Manager who is passionate about technology and how it solves customer problems.  The successful candidate will be looking to accelerate their sales career by managing and growing the Western US territory. Primary work location will be in the California area. Come join our collaborative and supportive sales organization in selling the industry’s most innovative products.

Detailed Description:


  • Promote FLIR IIS Machine Vision products, support and guide customers, and build relationships with new and existing customers. Establish FLIR as a preferred vendor for our products.

  • Identify new business development opportunities and grow them into stable customers

  • Grow existing accounts through fostering long-term relationships with existing clients

  • Build and execute a territory sales and achieve sales targets working with other departments; including other Sales members, the Product Management team, Support team, Engineering team, and Marketing team

  • Establish operational objectives and work plans within their assigned territory

  • Prepare and update monthly territory forecasts and budgets

  • Understand market trends & requirements through customer visits, trade shows, and new business development

  • Follow-up with new leads and opportunities.

  • Proactively pursue business opportunities within the assigned territory, increase sales and establish FLIR as a preferred vendor for our products

  • Actively manage accounts to foster existing relationships, ensure customer needs are met, and follow up with account inquiries

  • Manage interactions with customers via phone, email, and site visits; respond to inquiries, qualify opportunities, prepare quotes, and follow up with accounts accordingly

  • Provide customers with technical information and guidance


Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree (Engineering or Business preferred). A strong technical background is preferred.

  • 5+ years’ experience in a B2B sales role with an OEM

  • Good customer communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on responding promptly and meeting commitments made to customers

  • Excellent level of detail and ability to multitask and handle stress

  • Strong work ethic with positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn new things

  • Team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision

  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

  • Good presentation skills 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills are a must

  • Ability to travel frequently if required


Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge of the uses and technical capabilities of industrial digital cameras and/or experience in the Machine Vision Industry is an asset

  • Familiarity with hardware based sales and the Electronics, Manufacturing, or Robotics industries

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM

  • SAP user is an asset.
