Position Overview

Zelis Healthcare seeks a visionary, engaging and results oriented leader who wants to join a healthcare company and become part of an exciting information technology team. The Vice President (VP), Data Analytics and Intelligence, is a member of the Technology leadership team. This global position is responsible for the definition, development and delivery of comprehensive technology data analytics and business intelligence strategies in a 24x7 environment. This position will build a best-in-class organization delivering high-quality technology data analytics and business intelligence strategies, operational services and solutions. This includes building global capabilities by delivering technology expertise in data modeling, data lakes, data warehouse, data science, predictive analytics, performance dashboards, reporting analytics and tools. This position will serve company executive leadership, the enterprise community and associates. Scaling the data analytics and business intelligence, for internal and external customers through reliable technology data services and predictive analytics are key success factors.

The VP, Data Analytics and Intelligence will have extensive healthcare industry experience working with large scale transaction processing. He/She will lead the team of data analytics and business intelligence professionals to create a global enterprise view across our business lines and key partners. Establishes Data Analytics and Intelligence protocols, services, time commitments and metrics. The complexity of this position requires a leadership approach that is engaging, imaginative and collaborative. He/She will have a sophisticated ability working with other leaders to align, set and deliver Data Analytics and Intelligence and company priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Sets the Data Analytics and Intelligence organization mission/vision to foster an enterprise culture and mindset driven by continual service improvement techniques.

  • Provides strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of legacy data analytics and enterprise intelligence, including the full life cycle of data requirements, modeling, architecture, analytics, engineering and tools.

  • Technical discipline of data process, analysis and intelligence for all lines of business; data management, dashboard and predictive analytics, performance, lifecycle, service, querying, findings, reporting, revenue, contracts, customer, security, policies and models for standard and artificial intelligence initiatives.                                             

  • Develop a robust scalable technology data analysis and intelligence environment, and world class enterprise analytics, data warehouse, modeling and tools.

  • Further develop/evolve state-of-the-art robust, scalable, secure and flexible platforms ensuring long term competitive advantage.

  • Leads the development of the Data Analysis and Intelligence strategy and roadmap and ensures its integration with the overall Technology and enterprise strategic plans.

  • Works with the Technology senior leadership team on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritize resources.

  • Acts as a trusted advisor and builds and maintains relationships with other Technology leaders and business executives to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensures cost-effective delivery of Technology services to meet those needs and responds with agility to changing business priorities.

  • Develops and controls the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for Data Analytics and Intelligence to ensure it is consistent with overall strategic objectives of Technology and the enterprise and is within plan.

  • Leverages influencing and negotiation skills across Technology and the enterprise to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in achievement of business goals.

  • Participates in the assessment of external and internal technology capabilities required to achieve desired competitive positioning.

  • Drives contemporary approach to Data Analytics and Intelligence determining utilization of Cloud environments; manage Technology relationship with Cloud vendors in conjunction with enterprise software development organization.

  • Maintains currency on new technologies and platforms and provides direction on what emerging technologies should be assimilated, integrated and introduced within Data Analytics and Intelligence to ensure Technology capabilities scale for growth.

  • Champions Data Analytics and Intelligence involvement in innovation efforts and its role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of business opportunities.

  • Directs the development of Data Analytics and Intelligence sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor/partner relationship management; partners with key finance and legal personnel on vendor management and compliance.

  • Partners with Human Resources/People Operations and the Technology leadership team to develop people priorities and plans, that aligns with the Technology strategies. Continually looks for innovative and meaningful solutions to the recruitment, development and retention of the Data Analytics and Intelligence workforce.

  • Forecasts future skill needs to acquire and develop a Technology workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills and competencies that balance between growing the agility required to achieve digital business objectives and ensuring the core Technology functions are reliable, stable and efficient.

  • Serves on Technology planning and policymaking committees; drives the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure Data Analytics and Intelligence delivers value to the enterprise.

  • Provides proactive leadership, coaching, clarity of direction and career growth development to the Data Analytics and Intelligence leadership team and staff.

  • Works closely with Technology leaders, technical experts, business leaders across the enterprise on a wide variety of Data Analytics and Intelligence issues that require an in-depth understanding of the Technology environment in their units.

  • Domestic and international travel 25% annually

  • May be required to work on off hours and weekends

professional experience/qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or Information Technology

  • 15+ years progressive technology experience in a Data Analytics and Intelligence leadership capacity; preferably in a dynamic healthcare industry

  • 8+ years of experience in managing a Data Analytics and Intelligence organization/team; preferably in a technology organization

  • In-depth technical Data Analytics and Intelligence knowledge and skills

  • Exceptional people leadership, communications and cross-functional teamwork

  • Demonstrated outstanding technical expertise working with C-suite executives

  • Track record of setting and meeting service level agreements (SLA’s) in a complex technology operating environment and high-volume transaction processing
