THE EBSCO CAPITAL VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT is a key position within a growing corporate development and captive private equity group in a dynamic, international, family-owned business in Birmingham, Alabama. The position will have broad responsibilities that will focus heavily on deal flow generation while assisting in acquisition execution. The position will have exposure to senior executives within the Company as well as the key managers of its diversified portfolio of companies. The position will operate out of EBSCO Capital's headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
*Deal Flow Generation: generating a significant pipeline of middle market deal flow from investment banks and other deal intermediaries as well as proprietary sources
*Developing and executing a deal flow strategy for new platform investments for EBSCO Capital
*Creating and maintaining relationships with existing and potential sources of investment opportunities
*Representing EBSCO Capital at industry networking events and distilling industry knowledge that comes from networking activities
*Evaluation and vetting of acquisition targets
*Negotiate non-disclosure agreements and confidentiality agreements
*Provide transaction support throughout the entire deal process
*Monitoring and reporting of acquisition performance
*Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses and other special projects as needed
*Maintain Salesforce database and deal pipeline
POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
* Bachelor's degree (Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or Economics preferred)
* 3-5 years of sales, development, and or marketing experience.
* Significant travel will be required
*At least 3-5 years of experience in one of the following fields: private equity, investment banking, corporate development, M&A transaction advisory services (quality of earning analysis, valuation, etc.), or restructuring advisory services
*Keen understanding of Return on Invested Capital (\\"ROIC\\") concepts and drivers
*High energy, outgoing, enterprising personality with excellent networking abilities
*Entrepreneurial, self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
*Previous experience in direct business development responsibility strongly preferred
*Strong presence both in person and over the phone
*Financial acumen and working knowledge of the capital markets
*Excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing and presentation skills
*Highly motivated and internally driven personality
*Excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing and presentation skills - must be able to communicate complex and broad subjects in a cogent and concise manner
*High level of competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
*Strong work ethic with a demonstrated record of achievement
