Job Description:

We currently have an exciting opportunity at our Fox Affiliate, WFTX-TV, in sunny SW FL for a top-notch Anchor/MMJ who will be responsible for preparing and delivering accurate news reports for the morning newscast.


  • Co-anchor the morning newscast, Monday through Friday

  • Gather and write news content for multiple platforms, including posting stories on the social media

  • Report live on location from various news events

  • Research and develop news stories

  • Perform various community service activities for station, including performing as master of ceremonies for public service events and as host/hostess for station events

  • Periodically required to drive personal or company vehicle to cover various assignments

  • Must be willing and able to work long or irregular hours during continuing news coverage if required, especially including hurricanes

  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED - Candidates must have a four-year college degree and reporting and anchoring experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. The following characteristics and skills are a must:

  • News writing and production

  • Live reporting and live interviewing

  • Strong knowledge of journalistic standards as related to the on-air presentation of news

  • Work well under pressure and with others to develop and execute compelling newscasts

  • Self-motivated and creative

  • Exhibit a warm, cheerful & entertaining personality in support of a fast-paced, high-energy, personality-driven morning newscast


  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends, and participate in promotional events as needed

  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record and proof of insurance required
