Position Description

Work as Project Manager to organize and direct efforts toward meeting project goals for terminals project management involving:

  1. The design, construction, and operation of facilities associated with handling bulk and break bulk products, conveyor systems, truck and rail loading operations and other material handling operations handling bulk, break bulk products.

  2. The design, construction, and operation of facilities associated with hazardous liquid terminals, truck loading terminals, and related pump, storage, and metering facilities

  3. Working on marine docks/ barges, cranes, ship loaders/unloaded or otherwise in a marine environment

  4. Provide project leadership including scope development, prioritization of tasks, cost estimating, design engineering, scheduling, construction management, coordination with terminal operations and cost tracking, all in accordance with KM standards and regulatory requirements

Position Requirements

Project scope and estimate - Assist the Project Development Group with finalizing the project Design Basis Memorandum and cost estimate as project is being finalized for AFE approval
Project Design - Following the engineering stage gate process, involving internal customers in operations, maintenance, EH&S and commercial in the development of project detailed design. Conducts reviews of all design documents and cost estimates to validate. Complete all plans and specifications as needed to bid projects for construction.
Project Schedule - Work with the project scheduler to develop detailed project schedule and update during construction. Manage work in the field to meet project in-service goals.
Procurement - Provide bid packages to procurement for competitive bidding and provide technical review and recommendations for purchasing services and materials.
Construction - Manage the project execution team consisting of construction manager, construction inspectors, site safety personnel to meet all defined project goals.
Cost - Manage project costs and assist project controls with required project reporting updates.
Project Quality, Safety, and Environmental Compliance - Take leadership role in the field to ensure safety of all KM and Contractor employees during project construction.
Ensure appropriate QA/QC during construction.
Ensure that all required project documentation is collected and properly stored during course of project.

BS Degree in Engineering preferred (civil, mechanical or chemical) equivalent experience will be considered.
Minimum of 5 to 8 years' experience in project management involving the design, construction, and operation of facilities associated with handling bulk, break bulk and/or liquid products., Must have full complement of project management skills including project scoping and estimating utilizing work breakdown structures, cost and schedule control, design and construction management, team building, resource planning, procurement, and permitting.
A satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and a current, valid State driver's license are required.
Working knowledge of applicable regulations and agencies such as DOT, OSHA, and various state counterparts.
Familiarity with NEC, ASME, API, NFPA and ASTM specifications, standards, and recommended practices.

Competencies, Skills and Abilities:

Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.

Well-balanced interpersonal skills and demonstrable verbal and written communication skills.

Must be accountable and take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.

Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.

Must be a problem solver with the ability to find good solutions.

Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.

Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies

Physical Demands:

Must have the ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Reach overhead for items, stoop, bend and twist while working. Other physical activities include seeing, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data, operate and computer and read.

Working Conditions :

Must be willing and able to work in an office environment.

Must be willing and able to work outside in the plant environment, in all types of climatic conditions.

Able to working at heights up to 100' and in confined spaces

Occasional travel to other field or corporate locations may be required depending on nature of ongoing work activities (approximately 25% - 50%)

A satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and a current, valid State driver's license are required.

Subject to company drug testing program.

Extended periods of sitting may be required for administrative activities.

Must be willing and able to carry a cell phone and to respond when contacted.
