Position Title: Area Supply Chain Manager - 7E


Position Summary


The Area Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for leading the area supply chain transformation to improve project and service delivery execution. The ASCM will lead a transformation that will relieve the construction and service delivery execution organization from the burden of manually executing supply chain transactions and ad hoc determination of area material management optimization. The ASCM will support the development and implementation of supply chain processes and procedures in the areas of planning, strategic sourcing, purchasing, warehousing, transportation and material flow optimization to drive significant improvement in project execution, material and services cost, quality, reliability and responsiveness in a manner consistent with Crown Castle values.


Essential Job Functions


  • Collaborate with Area team and functional homerooms to drive great project execution

  • Lead Area Supply Chain teams

  • Develop, coach and mentor team members

  • Establish quantitative performance management routines with team members

    • Performance metrics include:

      • Contractor services cost reduction performance to target

      • Transportation and warehousing cost performance to target

      • Inventory $ / turns

      • Material on time delivery

      • Warehouse fill rate

      • Material availability at site / GC

      • Material purchase price variance to contract or best price last 12 months

    • Engage and educate Crown Castle key stakeholders about the Area SCM process

    • Be aware of and support resolution of all area supply chain related issues, escalating when appropriate

    • Establish initiative charters and lead initiatives through a tollgate process to ensure timelines and targets are met

    • Attend program / project kickoff meetings

    • Rationalizing Crown Castle supply base

    • Establish Area Material Flow Plan that optimizes fulfillment and construction costs.

    • Establish effective organizational engagement routines and communications to ensure intake of the best ideas and most effective implementation strategies.

    • Develop methods to track and analyze and drive improvement in cost, quality, delivery, reliability and responsiveness performance kpi’s

    • Establish business continuity and supplier risk management protocols and plans

    • Meet annual budget and cost savings targets

    • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships both within and outside of the Supply Chain Team to drive accomplishment of overall Supply Chain goals and objectives

    • Assist with the implementation and training of systems, tools, processes, and procedures for the lines of business to ensure effective deployment.




  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience



Experience/Minimum Requirements


  • Five (5) years purchasing, supply chain and/or related experience

  • Knowledge of Fiber, Tower and Small Cell construction and service delivery business

  • Knowledge of supply chain material processes and systems
