Arcosa Marine is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Senior Pipe Welder - 1st Shift in our Ashland City, TN barge manufacturing plant.

Arcosa Marine is a leading U.S. manufacturer of barges that transport dry and liquid cargoes on inland waterways. Arcosa Marine manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum and other refined products, chemicals, fertilizer, ethanol, and other liquid cargoes. Arcosa Marine also manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges that transport a variety of products, such as grain, coal, and aggregates.

As a Pipe Welder at Arcosa Marine, you will use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics or work orders; will use manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials.

What You'll Do:

  • Weld together pipe parts using semi-automatic, automatic and manual welding processes according to blueprint and layout specifications
  • Lay out complex assignments
  • Weld in all positions on carbon, stainless or aluminum
  • Read blueprints, detailed drawings, measure, and calculate as needed
  • Perform flux-core arc welding; FCAW
  • Perform welds for pressure tested pipe
  • Inspect and ensure that completed work conforms to specifications by the company and government standards (e.g. Coast Guard standards)
  • Perform minor maintenance to equipment
  • May perform repairs for testing if required
  • May serve as a problem-solving resource to others
  • Complete all required records
  • Follow all safety rules and practices
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

1st Shift Work Schedule:

Monday - Thursday: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Friday: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

What you will need:

  • 2-3 years of prior work history in pipe welding and fabrication
  • Experience with FCAW
  • Able to weld in all positions
  • Able to read and understand blueprints and detailed drawings
  • Previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment is beneficial
  • Previous experience in shipyard or steel manufacturing industry is a plus

  • May require working above ground

  • Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable with heights.

  • May require working in narrow or confined work spaces for extended periods of time

  • May require extensive kneeling, bending, walking and/or standing for long periods of time
