Job Description:

Goodwill Industries Monocacy Valley, a leader in workforce development services, is seeking a reliable Driver to safely operate a vehicle during pick-up and delivery of goods from the warehouse, stores, bins and home pick-ups etc. The successful candidate for this position needs to be able to complete daily logs, keep and maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and must report all safety and mechanical problems to the manager or supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

Safely operating a 26ft box truck or company truck for pickup and delivery of goods from the warehouse, stores, bin's and customer homes/work places
Transfer and handle materials, merchandise or equipment
Manually load/unload materials from trailers and sort in prescribed manner
Keep baler area, dock area, and warehouse operating safely at all times by adhering to agency safety/security policies and practices
Work flexible schedules based on the needs of the business
Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area(s)
Attends meetings and training sessions as required
May be trained and certified in operating equipment
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Must be 21 years of age or older
Minimum of 2+ years of driving experience
Ability to comply with all Federal, State, local law and transportation regulations
Able to communicate effectively
Strong knowledge of roadways throughout Frederick and Carroll County
Strategic innovative thinking, solid judgement, and problem solving skills
Ability to obtain certification for forklift and/or pallet jack operation
Must be able to work flexible hours that may include nights, holidays, and/or weekends
Able to perform functions with or without special accommodation
Must be able to pass a background, drug screen, motor vehicle background check, and USDOT Medical Examination

Warehouse environment
May be exposed to dust, debris, animal hair, and any number of allergens
Items donated may be textile, glass wares, electronics, books, media, furniture, plastics or any variation.
Consistently moderate noise level
Tolerance of extreme changes in temperature and humidity

Physical requirements

Lifting and carrying up to 50lbs without assistance/ up to 100lbs with assistance
Moving up to 750 pounds with the use of a pallet jack
Developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers)
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stopping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders; standing for long periods of time
Able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain)
Ability to tolerate different temperature variations in working environment
