This position is responsible for creating and building highly strategic sourcing initiatives and managing competitive bidding processes focused on delivering value across price, quality and service. This position also has responsibility for managing the strategic sourcing and supplier management processes at Verisign. Responsibilities also include monitoring of supplier performance and driving continuous improvement across the supply base. Initially, this is an individual contributor position with the potential for future people management responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Creates and maintains the strategic sourcing plan through collaboration with stakeholders. Leads the execution of strategic sourcing and competitive bidding initiatives, including conducting spend and data analysis, internal assessments, drafting requests for proposals, evaluating proposals, and negotiating with suppliers.

  • Manages the activities of the strategic sourcing and vendor management function.  Exercises supervision in terms of costs and methods.

  • Collaborates with suppliers and internal stakeholders to measure and ensure supplier performance.

  • Develops and maintains policies and controls for competitive bidding and supplier management processes to achieve financial, compliance and risk management objectives.

Key attributes:


  • 8 years of progressively responsible business experience in leading strategic sourcing, competitive bidding, contracting and supplier management initiatives across various spend categories, including Information Technology (software and hardware), corporate and professional Services, and telecommunications.

  • Strong financial and procurement data analysis skills. 

  • Advanced skills in Excel.

  • Proven experiences in conducting complex strategic sourcing initiatives and related contract negotiations.

  • Track record in building supplier performance management programs and initiatives.

  • Proficient in use of standard strategic sourcing, spend analysis, contracting and procurement related tools.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • 4 year Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience.

  • Graduate Degree

  • Strong leadership skills to manage cross functional teams

  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
