Oversees day-to-day operations of the engineering automation software and related software applications.
Identifies/implements mid-range and long-range strategic initiatives and solutions.
A successful leader will help ensure team is challenged and able to keep applications functional and supportive, and will both ensure direct reports understand policies, procedures and protocol, and empower them to improve them.
The leader will also plan department workload, manage schedules, control department costs, and handle day-to-day, and longer term, personnel activities for the Applications team.
Create career development paths with associates; provide development opportunities to help individuals achieve their goals; provide coaching and training to help team perform daily activities, including process improvement projects
Build/develop a high-performance team; evaluate talent, determine/close talent gaps; Perform associate reviews (recommended uarterly, minimum annually) and recommend associate pay changes, raises, position changes, etc.
Design/implement procedures and guidelines to increase accuracy and throughput
Collaborate with estimating, engineering, purchasing and manufacturing to create standard and custom solutions that increase profitability
Plan workload and manage schedules including setting project schedules, direct/indirect work, vacation, overtime hours, etc.
Write SQL ueries
Troubleshoot applications issues; design/implement advanced training to develop team
Prepare bi-weekly briefing report of performance metrics for engineering manager
Able to develop/code software solutions; experience with Pref/Preference software or ability to learn code
Champion safety, culture and process improvement
2+ years related experience
Significant applications and database experience (ERP, automation software, etc.)
Ability to perform above listed duties
Self directed, minimal supervision
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to inspire personnel
Ability to adapt to, and create, change
Ability to mentor, coach and teach
Pref/Preference software experience, a plus
Commercial fenestration experience, a plus
