Product Management Lead Analyst – Supplemental Health Integration

Support strategies for product development designed to maximize profitable growth targets.  Strategies include market and segment analysis, product definition, competitive assessment and underwriting/pricing strategies, ensuring that products deliver superior value to customers. Support market-driven product development project plans. This role will function as a utility player supporting the integration of Supplemental Health products with Group, Medical, Behavioral, Pharmacy, Dental, and Vision products – both within Cigna and with other carriers. Key responsibilities for this role include completing opportunity analyses, driving key projects through to completion, and handling the day-to-day product management activities such as providing subject matter expertise to the field and leading cross-functional projects and teams. 

The candidate for this position will be responsible for helping to ensure that the integrated Supplemental Health products are at or above competitive parity.   Areas of focus include helping to enhance or deliver products/services that improve our competitiveness and support our value proposition.  Success will be achieved through strong, proactive partnerships with areas such as the claims management / service operations, Segment/Sales Leaders, IT, CIMA, Underwriting, Pricing, and account management / service.

  • Support product development strategies to drive sales, voluntary participation and earnings growth

  • Launch tests of minimum viable solutions and iterate improvements to drive scale

  • Partner with matrix partners/organizations such as claims management / service operations, Segment/Sales Leaders, IT, CIMA, Underwriting, Pricing, and account management / service to identify new product and/or enhancements that will result in increased sales/earnings. 

  • Fully understand customer needs, client needs and competitive offerings

  • Develop project proposals to obtain funding for product enhancements

  • Provide input to the prioritization process to ensure items are appropriately prioritized

  • Develop product specifications and assists in the development of project requirements

  • Serve as the product lead for the implementation of new product/enhancements

  • Provide product/marketplace direction throughout project lifecycle

  • Serve as the voice of the market for the project team

  • Identify and lead tactics to maximize product advantages

  • Support all the project management common processes including scope management, risk management, financial management, and communication management

  • Drive resolution of issues, escalating when appropriate

  • Support development and implementation of sales training

  • Serve as point of contact for Sales on assigned products/services

  • Ensure effective and positive relationship across the project team

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in Supplemental Health product insurance preferred

  • Product Management/Program Management preferred

  • Strategic and creative thinker with ability to think outside the box and translate strategies into actions/requirements/implementation

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent project management skills with a strong understanding of business processes and operations

  • Ability to tie together complex issues and implement solutions to meet the needs of the global matrix

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results with strong sense of urgency

  • Team player with proven ability to foster and manage working relationships within a matrix environment

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities

  • Superior collaboration and verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong influencing and presentation skills
