Pico Propane & Fuels has an immediate opening for a full time Class A or Class B CDL Bobtail Delivery Driver in the Corpus Christi/Beeville area. 

For over 25 years, Pico Propane & Fuels has been providing customers with a reliable supply of high-quality petroleum fuels and lubrication products. Our Bobtail delivery drivers safely pick up and deliver propane to customer locations as well as provide exceptional service and efficiency.

Job Summary:

The Bobtail Driver is responsible for loading, transporting and delivering propane to our residential and commercial customers using a bobtail truck (3,000-5,000 gallon capacity).   Our Bobtail Drivers are committed to Service, Efficiency and Safety. 


  • Complies with all city, state, and federal regulations

  • Loads, secures, transports, and delivers propane to residential and commercial locations

  • Provides a high level of service to customers

  • Performs pre and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials

  • Maintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven in compliance with all DOT regulations

  • Maintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety

  • Ensures that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor

  • Applies a thorough understanding of the technical concepts, practices and procedures and a general knowledge of industry standards and government regulations related to testing and transporting bulk petroleum products to pipeline injection points

  • Performs other related duties as assigned


  • Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.

  • Ability to maintain accurate logs and records

  • Ability to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervision

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Class A or B CDL license with hazmat endorsements required

  • Texas Railroad Commission propane certification required

  • Ability to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)

  • No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 2 years

  • 3+ years tractor and trailer experience in propane and/or fuel distribution business preferred

  • 1+ years tanker experience within the last 5 years preferred
