Position Purpose

The Mt. Joy Chocolate plant Production Supervisor role is heavily waited in the continuous improvement environment. We are in search of a candidate who can help successfully deploy Stable Ops in our manufacturing facility. We are evolving into an environmment where decisions are made through data analysis. Because of this, experience with Six Sigma, Lean Leader, and Cause Analysis (e.g. RCA, 5 Why techniques) is essential to this role. Individuals who are certified Green Belt or Black Belt are the ideal candidate.

Principal Accountabilities

55% Operational Efficiency: Drives customer solutions and services, product quality, SQI, and food safety. Reviews, monitors, and follows up on area results to ensure quality, food safety, and efficiency goals are met. Troubleshoots causes of customer issues or production problems and collaborates with other functions to provide efficient and effective resolution. Recommends and implements operating efficiencies within plant.
Oversees coordination of maintenance activities with respect to product planning, including planning and monitoring plant shutdowns. Works with Technical and Product Development groups to analyze plant capabilities versus customer needs and wants. Shows the ability to help create new procedures and improve existing procedures.

25% Leadership: Shows the ability to lead shop floor employees by example. This includes listening and respecting the voices of all departments.

10% Engagement: Builds employee engagement through positive working relationships and promotion of an enthusiastic and open atmosphere where employees will want to offer their ideas.

10% EHS: Manages Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program and compliance within production area.

Relocation will not be provided for this position.

Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years’ of supervisory experience or leadership experience, such as crew leadership, project leadership or equivalent.
• Experience of HR practices, including EEO, Guiding Principles, etc.
• Experience of production management with ability to develop understanding of plant processes and operational needs.
• Microsoft Office Suite experience.
• Able and willing to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Able and willing to work night shift, weekends, holidays and other shifts when required.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, sciences, or business
• 3+ years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years’ supervisory experience.
• Continuous improvement experience, i.e. Six Sigma, Lean Leader, Green Belt certification, Black Belt certification, Stable Ops.
• Process Engineering experience.
• Experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement activities.
• Minitab and Visio experience.
