Summary - Corporate Financial Planning Analyst



This position directly supports an assigned business unit and NECAM as a whole in the areas of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and analysis (both regular and ad hoc).  Works independently, receives minimal guidance. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions.


 












Essential Duties and Responsibilities -



40% Prepare complex financial and operational reports and analysis relating to business unit and overall company performance and profitability.


  • Track monthly Revenues and Costs against departmental and project plans.  Identify any gaps

  • Ensure transactions are completed appropriately

  • Recommend required month end Journal Entries

  • Prepare monthly analysis of business trends and vaiance analysis of finacial results and Key Performance Indicators

  • Perform monthly performance review of business unit initiaitves and identify opportunties for improvement


 

10% Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, working with the business units and corporate departments; prepare and analyze forecasts, budgets and long range plans.


  • Maintain and enhance models used to forecast results

  • Create departmental and project forecasts based on known or potential risks and opportunties


 

25% Conduct various regular and ad hoc analyses of trends in revenue, profitability, expenses and other related areas.


  • Provide strategic financial and operational insights utilizing recuring performance reports and ad-hoc analysis

  • Advise on risk and opportunity considerations for managing cost and growing the revenue and profitability

  • Support smaller customer Sales Team with customer quote and billing support


 

10% Monitor and analyze key performance indicators and various operational metrics.


  • Recommend planning and businss performance issues to define and execute action plans


 

10% Prepare analysis and presentation materials for executive leadership on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

 

5% Develop financial models and various analyses to support strategic initiatives.


  • Produce complex business case analyses based on quantitative and qualitative data

  • Clearly present findings and impacts in order to drive decision making



 


 























Prerequisites -



Education:



Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or related.



Experience:



4-6 years business/financial experience.



Certifications, Licenses, etc:



CPA or MBA preferred.

Language Skills:



Effective written and verbal communication skills.



Mathematical Skills:



 



Reasoning Skills:



Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to logically structure appropriate analytical frameworks.  Ability to work independently and as a team member with excellent interpersonal skills.

Excellent time management skills, highly-driven and self-motivated



Computer and/or Technical Skills:



High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint; comfortable working within ERP system(s) and business planning and consolidation software.
