Job Description:

The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for leading and reporting on the status of the overall QA effort for various projects. Specifically responsible for testing and validating software functionality to assure that it meets the high standards of Babson College and the requirements of the system designer and the Babson community; challenging requirements and design; recommending alternatives to development staff; participating in conceptualizing, organizing, and planning quality assurance activities to support test design, development, automated and manual testing, and execution; and leading a work group or project team consisting of technical and support staff, as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and improve test plans, test cases, execution reports, and other department documentation.
Prepare time estimates and schedule for test activities.
Record and code automated tests for thorough test coverage.
Create, maintain, and execute test plans and scripts for testing application builds to ensure that quality software is provided for release to production.
Identify, isolate, and document defects clearly and concisely in the Jira defect tracking system with clear and unambiguous steps to reproduce.
Responsible for exploratory testing, manual & automated regression testing, and system integration testing to ensure that quality software is provided for release to production.
Facilitate data integration between Development, Stage, and Production systems.
Validate and verify contractually required standards for project execution by applying knowledge of quality systems and tools.
Responsible for performance load and performance testing.
Help improve current QA techniques and processes by researching best practices and recommending program improvements.
Review requirement specifications and documentation to gain a thorough understanding of the programs and processes to be certified.
Provide mentoring to Jr. QA Analyst as required.
Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
Education Requirements:
Minimum Level of Education Required: A BA/BS degree in computer science or other technical discipline with significant computer coursework (or equivalent experience and certification)
Position Knowledge/Skills & Abilities Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of previous QA experience.
Strong skills in software QA methodologies.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office .
Must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Exhibits strong attention to detail; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in testing activities.
A good understanding of the software development process including SCRUM.
Exceptional verbal and written communication, problem solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Ability to multitask.
Strong presentation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
Envisions and proposes new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; takes thoughtful risks; and accepts new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.

Working Conditions:
May require some evenings and/or weekends
Additional Experience, Skills & Abilities:
Experience testing highly scalable systems is desired
Experience in testing web based applications and web sites desired
Hands-on experience with different types of testing (i.e., functional, performance, load, security) is a plus
Familiarity with commercial and/or open source tools such as JIRA, Selenium, JMeter is a plus
