Job Description:

This position serves as the Human Resources lead supporting Supply Chain/Operations for the TreeHouse Foods Manufacturing facilites in the Western United States. This includes sites in Arizona, California, Missouri, Texas and Utah. This HR position is responsible for leading and directing a team of up to 6 Plant HR Managers to deliver people-focused initiatives, services and improvements across the Supply Chain. This role reports to the VP Labor Relations and Human Resources for TreeHouse Foods Supply Chain.

NOTE: This role can be located in Oak Brook, IL or any of our plant locations (see list above).

Position Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for developing and executing Human Resources agenda/priorities that drive and support the delivery of business/functional strategies that are aligned with the long-term HR strategy.
  • Partners with functional leadership to identify improvement opportunities and to drive effective change management programs and practices on key initiatives.
  • Partners with and coaches managers and employees in handling of various employee relations issues.
  • Serves as sounding board for both direct reports and business partners in all aspects of Human Resources for assigned functions, such as employee relations, compensation, benefits, talent management, organization development, HRIS, staffing, and labor relations.
  • Oversees HR practices related but not limited to, EEO, unemployment, litigation, retention, termination, turnover, and severance issues. May conduct difficult employee counseling sessions regarding EEO charges, performance issues and termination. Recommend, develop and implement programs and policies to ensure acceptance and compliance.
  • Responsible for leading, directing and actively developing direct reports (Plant HR Managers).
  • May be assigned other projects as necessary.
  • Travel to plant locations, as necessary (targeted at 50%).

Supervision:
  • Currently, 6 Plant HR Managers are reporting to this position.


Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in positions with progressively increasing Human Resources responsibility, including experience as an HR generalist/business partner.
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct management experience required.
  • Prior Supply Chain or plant Human Resources experience required.
  • Prior expereince in both Union and non-Union environments preferred.
  • Prior expereince with Lean Manufacturing preferred.
  • Practical, hands-on and in-depth experience in employee relations, compensation, benefits, talent management, organization development, HRIS, staffing, and labor relations desired.
  • Proficient with employment, labor and compensation/benefits laws & regulations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret employment laws.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with individuals at all levels
  • Strong influencing skills needed
  • Strong critical thinking skills needed.


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources, Business, Organizational
Development or related discipline. Master's degree preferred.
