Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Laborer/ Operator 1 to join our Pharmachem Laboratory business at our Paterson, N.J. facility. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Material Processing function. This position will report to the Production Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Loading and unloading of product bowls

  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment associated with Production

  • Packaging of product to meet specifications established by the customer

  • Make sure all paperwork is accurate and complete.

  • Stage materials for batches to be produced in the lab after verifying accuracy of material

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to read, speak, write and understand English

  • Basic understanding of math calculation

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:


  • 1+ year experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Willingness to work overtime as assigned
