Physician Productivity Coach will assist the Program in achieving its vision and mission. Physician Coaching focus, follow through and perseverance are expectations for Coaches. The Physician Productivity Coach will perform a variety of tasks related to physician coaching with the goal of increasing overall physician productivity (as measured by average actions per hour) while maintaining quality and team morale within Physician Operations.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Closely monitor monthly Microstrategy and Compass Productivity Reports, noting physician placement within the performance quartiles.
Confer with the Director of Physician Operations on monthly coaching targets.
Arrange and perform Coaching Engagement opportunities with performance outliers amoun the physician team. Regular contact involving: Acknowledgment of the coaching need; discussion of current and past performance and the relationship to other specialty team members as well as the team-at-large; Identification of the Goal Rate of Performance with stated expectations; Discussion about Barriers to Success and other challenges; Sharing of best practice information and consideration of mentoring needs; follow-up appointment to be set.
Regularly monitor reports and perform follow-ups with Coached physicians
Identify Productivity Champions, ongoing Coaching Needs and Physicians who either resist or are incapable of achieving goals over time. Report that information to the Director.
Continually harvest Best Practices among the physician team; look to productivity champions, newly improved physicians and the most experienced.
Circle back with the Training Team noting any training and/or performance-related gaps.
Identify and utilize potential mentors and physician champions to assist with real-time trouble-shooting and spot-check training needs.
Work with the Director to design Mentoring Programs, Virtual Chat opportunities for Trouble-Shooting, Best Practice Tips Archive, Quarterly and Annual Productivity Award Nominees and Program Development ideas.
Communicate with Specialty Team Captains/LEADs as necessary to garner support for the Productivity Coaching efforts. Nurture relationships with specialty team leaders.
Perform other duties as necessary to support the program.
Minimum Experience Required
Bachelor Degree in health related field
Experience in a hospital or health clinic environment including regular contact with physicians.
Organizational Management and Clinical experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics required:
High emotional quotient, strong communication skills - interpersonal, verbal, and written
Experience working directly with Physicians - preferably in a mutually supportive customer situation
Experience with or knowledge of coaching methods
Comfort level with statistical methods and report interpretation
Flexibility and the ability to handle multiple tasks
Strong presentation skills, organizational skills, and ability to work with a large and diverse physician population.
