The Outbound Manager must demonstrate and provide leadership in the Outbound processes of the DC inclusive but not limited to replenishments, picking, and shipping of orders.  Ensure fulfillment of customer orders in an accurate and efficient manner.  Monitors workflow within the bulk racking, and pick module order picking areas.  Monitor shipping operations of the department to ensure daily goals are achieved.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing Picking and Shipping Supervisors as well as oversight on all employees on the first shift operations in the outbound areas on daily goal completions

  • Efficiently balance labor between all areas of the outbound department as necessary throughout the workday.

  • Responsible for oversight of accurate and timely ship confirmation of orders

  • Must be able to prioritize, organize, and have good follow-up skills

  • Keeping customer chargebacks reduced and at a minimum while constructing plans that adhere to customer performance and expectations

  • Attentive about volume forecasts for the operation, and at customer level to be able to plan ahead and minimize potential shipment delays, operational disruption, or service levels

  • Problem solving and the ability to make on the spot decisions.

  • Ensure all work-related tasks are completed at a consistent pace that meets engineered labor standards of performance/Metrics.

  • Enforce all company safety procedures.  Communicate to management any concerns or violations.

  • Communicate effectively within the organization, with business units throughout the company, and with partners across the supply chain. Participate as an active member of the global operations leadership team

  • Must be able to professionally and effectively communicate in a high paced environment.

  • Participate in performance management of all exempt personnel that report to this position as well as ensuring supervisors are administrating hourly performance reviews timely.

  • Be involved in disciplinary processes and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency within the DC

  • Work directly with outside staffing agencies.

  • Directly involved in setting up work for the next day

  • Identify daily man-power needs. (Full time and temporary) through staffing metrics

  • Supports DC Manager with staffing plans across all departments, and all shifts within the building as needed

  • Assign daily responsibilities to direct reports

  • Miscellaneous duties, as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High School Graduate/Diploma or higher educational level

  • College degree preferred in a supply chain management field or similar

  • 3 + years previous manager experience directing people within a DC environment

  • Log Pro knowledge/RF experience preferred

  • Knowledge, Skills, Work Requirements, and Abilities:

  • Must be focused and detailed oriented

  • Must be able to multi-task

  • Good management, organization and communications skills.

  • Ability to support and lead by example in the development of direct reports

  • Working knowledge of warehouse equipment

  • Flexibility in assisting in any capacity based on business needs. 

  • Requires good judgment and decision-making ability in a fast pace environment.

  • Work with Management on process improvements
