Job Description:

WGBH enriches people's lives through programs and services that educate, inspire, and entertain, fostering citizenship and culture, the joy of learning, and the power of diverse perspectives.


The Local Development and Membership department (LDM) enables the WGBH Educational Foundation to carry out its public media mission by raising annual contributions from individuals for TV, Radio, and Web program support, as well as special projects at WGBH, WGBY, and the Cape & Islands Radio Station.  LDM oversees fundraising and relationship building through direct response campaign solicitations for all WGBH affiliated TV and Radio Stations, member engagement, and events to provide WGBH with the economic resources to pursue its mission.  LDM coordinates with CDP as appropriate.


The Assistant Director, under supervision from the TV Director and Producer, keeps the running time for the pre-records. If a break has been crafted (by the producer) to be a ten-minute break, the AD is responsible for getting the break to time out to be as close to that time but never over by much.


·        Keep a running time for when the talent needs to be done

·        Communicate the timings with the Stage Manager in the studio

·        Coordinate graphics and music at the end of each break help to meet the exact timing or as close as possible.

·        Review video materials with the “tape” operator prior to pre-records or live nights,

·        Communicate directly with the WGBH Caption Center when captions are needed


·        Previous assistant director experience required

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
