Job Description:

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with over 4,000 lawyers and staff in 31 offices is seeking to hire a Strategy and Development Specialist to reside in our New York, Philadelphia, or Princeton office.
The Specialist works closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and Strategy & Development team to drive initiatives to enhance the firm's market position across geographies and practices. The Specialist will be responsible for supporting the development of growth strategies, as well as the development of specific market plans that will drive growth.
This position will report to the Chief Strategy Officer and will work closely with the Global Strategy Manager, Manager of Strategy and Development, and other senior leaders in the firm.
Candidates must be self-motivated and detail-oriented, have outstanding organizational skills, and a strong commitment to client service. This position requires a very high energy level and flexibility with occasional overtime hours and business travel.
Primary responsibilities include:
Identifies, collect and analyze external and internal data points to inform growth strategies for practices and geographies
Performs market and competitor analysis to stay knowledgeable about macroeconomic trends, legal industry outlook, disruptive concepts, and competitive outlook for key geographic markets
Synthesizes results of quantitative and qualitative analyses into key trends, implications, and/or recommendations
Demonstrates a deep understanding of the firm's business, competitors and operating environment
Contributes to and build analytical frameworks and organizational protocols
Develops content that will support/be included in executive level presentations and reports to communicate and achieve buy-in for strategic recommendations
Additional ad-hoc project support for strategic planning projects
Performs other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications:
Must possess a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
3-5 years (post-college) prior experience working for a law firm or professional services organization is highly desired, preferably in a consulting or strategy development role; relevant experience will be considered
Very strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint knowledge
Ability to adapt to handle multiple projects simultaneously and be responsive to changing priorities
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and professional publications, prepare business correspondence, proposals and reports, effectively present information to groups of employees, and respond to questions from employees, managers, clients and vendors
Advanced arithmetic skills (compute rate, ratio, percent; able to draw and interpret graphs and charts)
Ability to solve practical problems, dealing with a variety of variables where little standardization exists
Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit, yet highly collaborative in working with colleagues in a global, highly matrixed environment across departments, offices and skill levels
Ability to rapidly identify the key drivers of a business issue and develop / lead analyses that produce actionable insights
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical ability
Prior experience formulating and presenting strategic plans to senior management
Strong written and verbal communication skills with senior leadership and partners
