Oversee the safe, efficient and productive operation of the D&B crew. Position is under the direct supervision of the Dragline/D&B Team Leaders.
Directly supervise and mentor technicians on the assigned crew and within the production departments when appropriate
Ensure career and skill development of technicians while meeting safety, production, and environmental targets through behaviors guided by the Peabody Leadership Pillars
Ability and commitment to work safely and encourage safe behaviors in others
Minimum five (5) years of experience in a surface mine or Mining/Civil Engineering or related degree with a minimum of three (3) years of post-graduate experience in a surface mine or related environment
Knowledge of heavy equipment operation: shovels, RTD, blades, dozers, drills & haul trucks
Knowledge of dragline/dozer systems is preferred
Ability to abide by and ensure compliance with all company rules and guidelines and all applicable state and federal laws
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and situations arising in open pit mining operations
Demonstrated ability to coordinate work with other departments
Demonstrate good computer skills
Possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends and overtime as needed
Must have or be willing to obtain Mine Foreman’s Certification
Must have or be willing to obtain a WY Blasting License
Supervision or step up supervision experience in a mining or related environment
Drilling and blasting experience
Formal education in blasting
Understanding of drill patterns and drill hole depths policy and procedure
