Reports to the Facilities Services Coordinator. Performs a variety of preventive maintenance duties, repairs, alterations, modifications of buildings, equipment, systems and grounds maintenance at Bremen Community Hospital as well as other Bremen locations as assigned.

Education and Experience
The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a high school diploma or equivalent. Associates hired after 07/01/2011 must possess a high school diploma. One to two years of related on-the-job experience at a large/complex, commercial/institutional building in maintenance, plumbing and electrical to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge of assigned equipment and facilities preferred. Valid State issued Driver's License is required.
Knowledge & Skills
Requires knowledge of maintenance procedures in areas such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, high pressure steam boilers, energy management and pneumatic control systems, etc.
Requires the mechanical ability to perform minor repairs on a variety of hospital equipment using job specific hand and power tools.
Demonstrates and maintains courteous, cooperative relations when interacting with other personnel, hospital team members and the public.
Requires a comprehensive understanding of shop mathematics and blueprint reading.
Demonstrates the analytical ability necessary to perform calculations, interpret data from blueprints and manuals, diagnose problems with equipment and solve problems.
Seeks guidance and remains knowledgeable of, and complies with, all applicable federal and state laws as well as regulations and hospital policies that apply to assigned duties.
Complies with hospital expectations regarding ethical behavior and standards of conduct. Complies with federal and hospital requirements in the areas of protected health information and patient privacy.
Attendance at one orientation in-service each year to review hospital policies and procedures is mandatory.
Experience in excel, word and digital filing is preferred.
May be exposed to conditions: due to fumes, extreme temperatures, dust, noise, asbestos, hazardous materials and other hazards such as electrical shock or gases. Considerable walking and standing for long periods of time. May be exposed to Blood Borne Pathogens, infectious disease and other hazardous waste.
Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e., to lift, work on ladders, walk, stand for prolonged periods of time, etc.) to perform the essential functions of the position. Heavy lifting required.
