Role & Responsibility
Recommend and document:
contract standards for insurance and indemnification wording
standard processes and procedures for risk management functions
Research, evaluate and make recommendations regarding current and state-of-the-art trends in risk management, safety, loss control and claims management strategies.
Identify and analyze potential impact of exposures of loss faced by the corporation
• Review and respond or coordinate responses to internal and external customers of the function including reviews of contracts, documents and requests for Insurance certifdicates.
Recommend advice to be given on insurance and risk management issues to corporate and business unit personnel and management.
Identify and recommend best-demonstrated practices of companies that have been very successful in the area of risk management
Assist in development and/or maintenance of a Risk Management Program Manual for distribution to corporate and business units management.
Coordinate, compile and review underwriting data for insurance renewals.
Attend pre-renewal strategy meetings with brokers; underwriting meetings with insurance companies.
Conduct cost/benefit analysis of program alternatives
Review leases, contracts and other legal documents to evaluate appropriateness of wording and assure compliance with insurance and risk management policies
Develop and/or maintain historical exposure information
Develop and retain vital information regarding corporate risk management programs
Arrange for timely payment of all costs associated with the cost of risk; keep accurate records of risk management expenses, including loss costs
Assist in coordination of internal and external loss control activity
Work together with business units to establish and support Safety Committees
Assist business units with their review and inspection of facilities with a focus on loss reduction
Assist in insurance claims management and claim litigation processes
Monitor and assist in the management of claims including analysis of loss data; oversight / review of claims admisintered by Third Party Adjusters (TPA).
Coordinate compilation and preparation of 1st party claims against insurers or 3rd parties.
Assist in the maintainence of insurance policy and other critical files
Jr. or Sr. standing seeking a degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, Insurance or related field
3.0 or higher GPA preferred
Be able to commit to Doosan for the entire term of the co-op (8 months)
Experience Required: 0>2 years
Travel Required: <10%
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint), Outlook / Lotus Notes software, on-line data base systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills

Ability to communicate in Korean a plus
