Description:

SPECIFIC

  • Assist with problem solving activities to improve efficiencies
  • Support department as needed to make improvements
  • Gather data that can be used in solving concerns
  • Conduct problem solving to make recommendations and implement improvements


SAFETY/HOUSEKEEPING

  • Work in a safe manner and encourage others to do so.
  • Report all unsafe acts and conditions immediately
  • Use our Innovation process and the team concept to improve safety in the plant
  • Be proactively involved with improving working conditions.
  • Maintain the appearance of a World Class Facility
  • Actively support full implementation of the 5S's, using it to approach and keep all areas clean, neat and properly maintained.

QUALITY

  • Offer ideas for improvement of all systems and help implement them
  • Lead area in achieving plant quality objectives/goals
  • 100% on-time delivery to customer
  • Target 0 PPM on parts for all our customers (Metalsa and customer standard: 25 or less PPM)
  • Understand customer needs and work towards meeting and exceeding them

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT/TRAINING

  • Actively involved with the Metalsa Model practices and promoting MOS principles.


Qualifications:

Academic and Experience

  • Pursuing 4-year degree in industrial engineering - Required
  • Completed 30+ hours toward degree - Preferred
  • In final year of school - Preferred
  • Experience with production inventory & control systems - Preferred
  • Participation in a significant role on the MOS, either deploying a practice, training in a tool or methodology, leading problem solving or other applied leadership experience - Preferred

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or touch
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arm
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to visually focus
