The Electrical Designer II participates in a team environment consisting of engineers and designers to produce construction documents for the following systems: power, lighting, controls, grounding, and the like.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assists in developing electrical documents using architectural background layouts and system performance requirements defined by the project team including the architect, engineer and project manager
* Assists in pre-design project activities, such as site assessment, site plan review, and verification of as built conditions
* Assists project team to find optimum system sizing, routing, materials, and space management for equipment and electrical distribution systems
* Assists senior staff with services during construction, including responding to RFIs, shop drawing and submittal review, and as-built drawings
* Coordinates with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering/ internal and external)
* Assists in developing projects in compliance with engineering codes, standards, principles, relevant specifications and contractual requirements
* Assists in the production of construction documents under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and coordinate with other disciplines
* Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
* Mentor interns and junior members of project teams
* Assists in development of construction drawings, specifications, details, schedules and diagrams for electrical and lighting systems
* Assists in performing quality control reviews of work developed by others
* Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS

* High School Diploma or GED required
* Associate s degree with technical focus preferred
* 3+ years of experience
* Advanced Technology experience preferred
* Autodesk Building Systems Software
* Experience working within a team environment
* Experience in the quality control review process
* Experience contributing to continuous improvement processes
* Proficient in the use Autodesk Building Systems Software
* Individual must possess strong communication and organizational skills
* Strong team player with an ability to build effective working relationships
* Energetic and self-motivated
* Working knowledge of Microsoft products
