Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute is a 380-bed acute-care hospital offering a full range of services. The paramedic is responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients under the direction of the nurse. The position requires knowledge of both department and hospital policies and procedures relevant to the delivery of patient care. This position requires knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical technology as it relates to emergency nursing
* Graduate of a formal college/technical paramedic program
* State of Florida Paramedic License
* BLS Certification
* ACLS/PALS Certification
* Previous Paramedic experience in an ED setting preferred
* Working knowledge of medical terminology.
* Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
* Ability to quickly make decisions to report patient condition with minimal supervision.
* Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 100 pounds.
