A Brief Summary of This Position:

This is an individual contributor with responsibilities to gather, record and distribute material certification data to assure that customer's materials meet the applicable specifications. This position is responsible to work alone and occasionally work as part of the QA team. This position reports to the Senior Quality Assurance Manager in the Structures Division.

Essential Functions:

  • Implement new certification requirements for customers
  • Receive and print incoming MTR's, company inspection and test reports
  • Prepare and issue certification reports to customers or inspection agencies
  • Perform various clerical duties as necessary to support divisional business objectives
  • This position reports to site Quality Manager

Other Important Details about the Role:

  • Uses various computer programs to create paperless certs that reduce paper consumption
  • Works with Shipping, Sales, and other QA department members to prioritize work
  • Sometimes uses alternative or secondary certification methods for certain customers
  • Receive direction of work from email, phone, and face to face interactions
  • Maintains steady pace of work that is independent of short term business fluctuations.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • One year of previous relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience maintaining an electronic and manual filing system
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills and the ability to enter and file data with emphasis on accuracy and efficiency
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, working with many different individuals and multiple priorities
  • Must have an acceptable previous work and attendance record
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds with most frequent lift up to 10 pounds

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • One year of previous experience in a certifications specialist role or related
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interpret quality specifications and blue prints
  • Working knowledge of Laserfiche, IFS, Certification Manager
  • The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a professional manner
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Working Environment and Physical Efforts: Can be used for the majority of administrative positions

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
