The Business Analyst is primarily responsible for providing project/program support to the Optum-John Muir Health account across business units with a focus on continuous improvement and customer experience. In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with multiple internal business partners and external client stakeholders to ensure an exceptional customer experience, service level achievement and strong employee engagement. Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop a project plan and supporting materials to operationalize the The Optum Performance System (TOPS); help design and facilitate training sessions on the use of active daily management methodology (Lean tools)
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a continuous-performance management program that promotes and rewards excellence, and drives ongoing, multi-directional transparent feedback across all functions (visual management and huddles)
  • Contribute to the design, implement and support of a peer champions program to drive TOPS into daily operations
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for the business and clients
  • Communicate analysis and interpretation to appropriate audiences
  • Support culture immersion activities and identify opportunities to strengthen Our United Culture within the new Optum-John Muir Health relationship
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of the Net Promoter System (NPS) strategy with a focus on making every customer contact as successful as possible, resulting in continued loyalty
  • Monitor project performance against established service level agreements and success measures, such as employee engagement, by working with internal business partners and centers of excellence (e.g., finance, human capital)
  • Contribute to the development of program or project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders (e.g. program/project charter, work plans)

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of project management, account management or client management experience
  • 1+ years of experience coordinating events (such as social responsibility, employee engagement, staff development, leadership retreats, etc.)
  • Intermediate or better proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel (ability to create spreadsheets, sort and filter data) and Microsoft PowerPoint (ability to create slides, upload graphs, and present data)
  • Experience evaluating and determining appropriate course of action to meet business-client needs
  • Demonstrated self-starter with strong planning organization, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with project stakeholders/business leadership team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Primary residence must be located in Northern California, and able to commute to the East Bay (Walnut Creek, CA) to work onsite in the office up to 5 days per week
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in a business process improvement methodology (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) and/or certification in project management (PMP)
  • Demonstrated experience driving process improvements
  • Flexible, agile and adaptable to change
  • In-depth knowledge of Optum service delivery model and operations
