Job Description:

Job Summary:
Provides support to Blue Diamond's North American Consumer Products Division by in mitigating risk and resolving consumer claims and handling some of the more difficult and more challenging consumer engagements, claims, legal and regulatory interactions; as well as, handling routine negotiations with insurer on final claims pay-outs/settlements.

Job Description:

  • Administers and coordinates efforts to mitigate risk to Blue Diamond and maintain a less than 30% annual claims pay-out.

  • Supports the Consumer Advocacy Manager with the more challenging consumer engagements.

  • Provides guidance to Assistant Consumer Advocates monetary complaints resolutions.

  • Coordinates and processes consumer product retrievals and lab analysis services.

  • Escalated claims, consumer product retrievals for QA and/or 3rd party lab analysis, along with production retain submissions to 3rd party lab analysis.

  • Communicating, both written & verbally, to follow-up as required by the various risk management entities.

  • Effectively negotiate claims settlement issues and pay-outs with insurance assessors and other risk management entities, as required.

  • Prepare associated reports for QA, Regulatory, BDG insurer, Legal, Marketing, Operations, Licensees & Co-Packers.

  • Facilitate claims review meetings with the BDG insurer, BDG Controller, and Consumer Advocacy Manager.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS                                                                     

Minimum level of education required 

  • High School Diploma or GED           

Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience
  • 5 years of Risk Management, Claims Processing, business 2 consumer customer service experience.

Other required type(s) of functional experience (e.g. Production/Operations, Accounting, Forklift Operator, Inventory Control, etc.)

  • Superior verbal communication skills.

  • Exceptional writing skills for letters, regulatory and legal documentation.

  • Ability to problem solve systematically.

  • Must possess exceptional analytical skills; ability to read, interpret and analyze data for periodic report preparation.

  •  Exceptional computer skills and working knowledge of database programs, as well as, MS Office Suite including PowerPoint and Excel.

Office environment demands including frequent speaking both in person and over the phone; writing, reading files, reports and PC screen.  Prolonged sitting at computer terminal.  Regular vision concentration for reading and checking reports, forms and data entry.
