Actuarial Analyst II
Preferred Location: Louisville, KY

Alternate Locations: Indianapolis, IN; Mason, OH; St. Louis, MO; Waukesha, WI; Atlanta, GA; Richmond, VA; Virginia Beach, VA


The Actuarial Analyst II supports Trend Projection and Clinical Close.  Completes projects and performs complex actuarial studies

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Forecasting claim trends, per member per month metric calculations, seasonality.

  • Explaining trend drivers and variances to Plan & Forecast.

  • Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; and prepares management reports supporting new capitation initiatives.

  • Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists.

  • Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects. 


  • Requires a BS/BA degree; required to have passed at least three Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) actuarial exams; at least 1 year related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Proficient in MS Excel required.

  • Programming language experience preferred; SAS / SQL desired.
