Application Engineer 

We are looking to add to our Service team in Lake Orion, MI.  Our application engineers work in a team environment where they design, develop, implement and train vision solutions to end customers. We work with a large array of software and hardware technologies, making the work environment very dynamic.  Individuals that thrive in this environment are those who love to learn and play with new technologies. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Design, program and implement machine vision projects.

  2. Write Technical training documents on new and existing projects

  3. Work with colleagues on large scale projects sometimes involving robotics and controls

  4. Position requires up to 60% travel.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Minimum 3-5 years' experience in trouble shooting automation systems (robotics, controls, vision, etc.)

  2. Experience with Machine Vision Platforms (Cognex IN-Sight, Matrox)

  3. Experience with Machine Vision integration and design

  4. Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

  5. Positive team player with an ability to maintain professionalism and great customer service skills

  6. Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  7. Self-motivated and self-directed with strong attention to detail 

  8. Dedication to continuously educating oneself in new processes and technologies

  9. Fluent English language skills required: Spanish or German language skills are considered a plus

Desired Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience with Machine Vision Platforms (e.g. Keyence, SICK, Dalsa, iRVision)

  • Experience with Fanuc, ABB and KUKA Robotics

  • Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs

  • Experience with software development in Python, C++, C Sharp and QT

  • AIA Certified Vision Professional
