Position Summary:

The business analyst is someone who analyzes an organization or business domain and documents its business or processes or systems, assessing the business model or its integration with technology.  They work with the business to understand needs by establishing capability & services views of each domains supported.  Work with project stakeholders to identify, model and then document their requirements and elaborate business success details. 

We are seeking a candidate who has proven leadership skills, the ability to think critically and problem-solve, and a track-record of ensuring project milestones and deadlines are met.

Leads & performs the identification of scope, requirements, and acceptance criteria to support the project team’s work on integration, design, development, testing, implementation and on-going support activities for the new & existing enterprise business applications and supporting business processes assigned.  Principle advocate in systems & process arena through the application of re-engineering, change management, technology and continuous improvement efforts. 

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

Relationship to Internal Clients

  • Establish enterprise domain and capabilities knowledge business operations and the supporting technology framework.

  • Utilize visual modeling to capture the enterprise business view.

  • Single Point of Contact (SPOC)

  • Provide enterprise level  business process analysis to manage the business design/processes and future design of the application (continue process re-engineering)

  • Manage the relationship between client base (owners of process) and IT (owners of tool)

  • Provide integration (capabilities) specialists who have detailed knowledge of the business application integration, complete understanding of end to end processes

  • Establishes, recommends (seeks approval) and implements Enterprise Wide Business Process system policies and standards and ensure adherence to security procedures

  • Provide operational support to conduct data configuration, testing, reporting tool support and security administration

  • Project Management capabilities to manage development projects that change, integrate or provide additional functionality to business processes

  • Provide effective communications to all business functional areas concerning business process changes

  • Establish, monitor, modifies and maintains Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with each functional area to ensure service capabilities and performance

  • Maintain and enhance formalize relationship with the Super User community.

  • Establish training and appropriate knowledge for each Super User

  • Establish metrics to measure effectiveness of Super User

Relationship to Business Applications Group

  • Maintains availability of Tools (systems) that support business processes

  • Involved with the project life cycle of any development projects

  • Provide input to decisions concerning development methodology, architecture, tools, processes, and resource allocation; delivering the developed application solutions, related designs, and unit test deliverables

  • Assist in conducting peer company evaluations for the purpose of gathering “best practices” and “benchmarking” information

  • Development of new & modified processes to streamline the effectiveness and control as well as to improve productivity

  • Counsel functional business unit management in the investigation, analysis, selection and presentation of all functional processing and technological developments as well as opportunities concerning business application processes

  • Leads & assists in the role of “agent of change”


Education & Knowledge:

  • BS/BA degree, Business or IT;  MBA preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive business application support, IT and/or ERP system experience

Experience / Skills / Abilities:

  • Have been a member of an ERP implementation project

  • Ability to use critical thinking skills to analyze problems and develop creative solutions quickly

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills utilizing both technical and laymen’s terms are required

  • Must possess the ability and skills to work effectively with all levels of management, communicate across all levels of the organization, and provide detailed guidance to the department members

  • Six Sigma Program experience is a plus

  • Strong understanding & experience in process re-engineering & change management principles

  • Strong general business background & analytical skills

  • In-depth knowledge & related experience in PC’s, Client Server & Web applications

  • Strong project management skill sets

  • Strong understanding of agile methodology

  • Owns process design/development and tactical implementation of business strategy designed by higher levels through delegation or personal execution

  • Based on experience with complex problems acts decisively to implement best solution to prevent business crisis or enhance business processes and practices/procedures

  • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions

  • Use creative problem solving skills and strong decision making skills to recommend a course of action with little or no consultation from superiors for assigned projects

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
